For more than 10 years, this Foundation has been providing technology to people who are blind or vision impaired through the use of assistive / adaptive technology. They estimate that the Foundation, with help from Lions Clubs all around Australia, have provided approximately 1000 pieces of equipment, enabling many people, including carers, a measure of independence.
Now that the NDIS has fully rolled out across Australia, this service is no longer required. This is a great thing as more people will gain access to the technology and support that is needed.
For Lions Clubs, it just means that they move onto the next task of serving and helping their communities on a local, national and international level. Thanks to all the people they have been associated with over the past 10 years, including their Blindness Agencies, Occupational Therapists, the Blind Community, GS1, Insignia, En-Vision America and their individual Lions Clubs who sponsored and helped many recipients.
