Supporting the Innisfail community by providing information, referral, support, counselling, legal, development and education services & programmes.
The Community Support Centre has a proud record of serving the Innisfail community for 43 years, providing information, support, counselling and community development.
The Johnstone Shire Council offered the use of rooms in the Innisfail School of Arts building, where they were situated until December 2008. In December 1997 the Centre changed its name from Community Advice and Information Centre to Community Support Centre Innisfail Inc. At the end of 2008 the Centre moved to an all new location in the Innisfail Multi Service Hub at 13 - 17 Donald Street. Many dedicated people volunteer at the Community Support Centre in various capacities including administration, reception, development of periodicals and newsletters, assisting with program delivery, supporting community members and Tax Help. As a funded service they have reporting obligations to the Department of Communities; and they are certified in accordance with the Human Services Quality Standards. The support provided by the Department of Communities allows the Centre to offer most of its services free of charge.
